iGD Sport are delighted to announce the sponsorship of Huddersfield boxer Fes Batista, ahead of the boxer’s third professional fight taking place in Alabama, United States. Batista is trained by former pound-for-pound boxing legend, Roy Jones Jnr.
iGD Sport is a compression sportswear brand founded in Yorkshire by former Rugby League player Andy Wray. The product is highly technical, allowing you to train harder and recover from training faster, due to the compressive nature of the materials used within the products. As a result, the brand is a go-to for many global boxers, including former world welterweight champion, Shawn Porter, as well as UK favourites such as Kell Brook and Josh Warrington.
Batista, a huge Huddersfield Town fan, has had a baptism of fire on entering the boxing game, having initially cut his teeth in the legendary Mayweather Gym in Las Vegas. The nature of his current trainer, Jones Jnr, being based in the US however saw COVID put a halt to Batista’s pursuit of his boxing dream.
This dream has recently been reignited, with the boxer due to fly out for the first of three fights in as many months at the end of April, as he sets his sights on making up for lost time.
The brand partnership, between iGD Sport and the fighter is perfect timing, with Batista’s career being reinstated and iGD Sport recently launching a new collection, having previously only produced sportswear for professional athletes.
Batista says:
"‘Its been a difficult and testing few years but I have been so lucky to have such a wonderful team around me that continues to support my dreams.
I am so happy to be working with iGD Sport as I’ve seen the brand worn by so many elite athletes such as the Vargas brothers, Linares, and Josh Warrington. It’s a privilege to wear this sportswear brand that is trusted by the best”

Brand Manager at iGD Sport, Zeri Cheetham-Karcz says:
"It's great to be involved with Fes so early in his career. We have worked with some of the best boxers in the world, but we also understand the importance of backing the next generation of talent, and Fes fits the bill.
HIs story is also extra powerful given where he started, not to mention he likes to do things differently, fighting out of the US all the way from his Yorkshire roots, something we aim to do too as a sportswear brand of the future!”
