THE EVOLUTION OF iGD SPORT
iGD Sport was the brainchild of our founder Andy Wray, a former professional athlete. Andy represented England Schoolboys at Rugby League before turning professional. After his career was cut short due to injury, Andy developed a love of performance and rehabilitation.
Having studied physiotherapy, Andy, despite the challenge of dyslexia, completed his degree and began training private clients, with a focus on prevention as much as rehabilitation. Andy’s way of learning, involved watching dissection videos, and the use of anatomy colouring-in books.
That was the starting point of iGD Sport – Andy began to play with the design of garments around the human anatomical structure. The design process started with sketches of anatomy drawings, which allowed Andy to adapt the panels and seams to follow the natural contours of the myofascial structures.
The sportswear developed through Andy’s continued career in physiotherapy, and his own training, which saw him complete various Marathon and Iron Man events. His love for human movement, and human performance, lending itself to the design of sportswear product, creating items that allowed for harder performance and faster recovery.

COMPRESSION WEAR BECOMES THE HERO
Using tight fabric around the muscles groups to aid recovery, compression wear became the hero product to help with that next day ache – Delayed Onset Muscles Soreness, or DOMS.
These products were picked up by professional athletes, and iGD Sport became the sportswear brand for some of the greatest athletes in the world. Product was supplied to the likes of Tyson Fury, Josh Warrington, Shawn Porter, Kell Brook, Jorge Linares, Kid Galahad and the Vargas family to name a few.

TECHNICAL SPORTSWEAR BECOMES ACCESSIBLE AND FASHIONABLE
A chance meeting with Leeds-born actress Zeriozha Annika - who's starred in TV series Waterloo Road, Coronation Street and Emmerdale - introduced the keen gym-goer to the brand before heading on a family trip to Dubai.
The mum of four soon became a huge fan of the compression set and the other products in the range. Juggling motherhood and running a brand, Zeri trains most days and found these products to be the best on the market. She invested in the brand, and became the Brand Manager in November 2021.
